About me

After a decade teaching English in inner-city schools in VA, I was burnt out and literally beaten up (twice). An adventurer and traveler at heart, I hit the road and found myself in CA where destiny and the mass exodus drew me into the Moving business. It was hard to lose the prestige of teaching, but I've found great peace, moderate success, and happiness with my blue collar. I've had a great run with UniMove.US, but things change - I met the love of my life, so being at home in paradise instead of on the road has new importance.

I'm a Southern gentleman, the son of a mechanic dad and an artist mom, both faithful and fun. Raised before Playstations & iPads, I was empowered to dream up projects and build them. When things broke, 9x out of 10, we Burkes fixed them. I am pragmatic and proud of it, so this innd that speaks to my integrity, but in case you're skeptical, I'm also licensed and bonded. That integrity also makes me admit my limitations; I despise today's epidemic of companies who always over-promise and under-deliver.

Note: Because I'm old school, there are times I step away from my phone; I do not have my phone attached to my face 18 hours a day. This complicates my response time, but is a benefit to my quality of work, as your project will have my undivided attention. Give me a shot, and go with your intuition.
